Collective intelligence (CI) in a business intelligence context

Written by Caroline Bouchard | 7 December 2024

I don't know about you, but for me, learning is as essential as breathing.

In a business context, I like to say that oxygen is the quality of the information we consume. Hence the importance of moving from infobesity to info strategy, as you may have discovered in my last article.

In an intelligence context, CI needs to be at the heart of your approach, and it's more than just a buzzword. CI is about creating a learning corporate culture through the pooling of skills, knowledge AND thoughts (including solutions!).

It's only when we've gathered the right information, through business intelligence and the distribution of intelligence bulletins, that the magic of collective intelligence kicks in.

This crucial information enables the entire team to update its knowledge, anticipate developments and trends, in short to adapt to change and support decision-making. It feeds (this information) into strategic thinking and helps the team, not only to reduce risks and wasted time, but to develop new opportunities.

It's in collective intelligence workshops, led by someone who plays the role of neutral facilitator, that the magic happens. This magic takes place when the team is mobilized and has reached a certain maturity and agility in order to adapt quickly.

At Phar, we work with and note the benefits of facilitating strategic decision-making workshops using CI in a business intelligence context.

In short, you'll:

- Move from "I think that" to "We know that";

- Save time and make the right choices;

- Anticipate risks: competitor innovations, changes in legislation, one-off crises in the sector...;

- Be able to identify new growth opportunities, technology integration;

- Have a solid corporate strategy, based on the expertise of your teams (sense of belonging, mobilization);

- Be able to optimize your decision-making processes and acquire greater agility.
